So do you remember how fun it was to collect things when you were little? I remeber collecting everything from pogs, ponnies, and rocks. Lucky for me my daughter has also inhertied my "collecting" habits. Since going to school she has become very into little figurines including S.L.U.G Zombies. The older kids loved learning about their new friends but the little ones made up their own story....my daughter named her zombie Alex and he worked at Target. Back to school are you ready?

Ah back to school time-what a great time to redo the closet! Now my daughter is young so we are always buying new clothes but I like to use back to school time to update my closet as well. So we are finally back from vacation-I have so much to share about my experience and the local products I have found while away. One of my favorite new discoveries while away was the Chilly Jilly which is a super functional wrap. Back to School time-are you snack ready?

So we have a little over a month before the kids go back to school-I cannot believe how fast summer has gone! Lucky me I do not have to get any supplies this year and all the kids will have the same book bag so only one thing to worry about-snack! At our school we have to provide snack for the week a few times a year and it has a ton of restrictions. One snack that is both approved and loved by all is fruit snacks! When I do send fruit snacks into class I want to make sure that they are healthy and not just "junk". Surprisingly this is harder to do than you would think...rarely do they have much more in them then sugar and juice concentrate. Tea Time!

This weekend we had the privilege of hosting a Cadbury Tea Party! All the girls were very excited to get a new fancy tea hat and drink tea from "real tea cups". My daughter & I are huge fans of the Olympics so we wanted to have a party leading up to the big day full of one of London's necessities-tea! Although we served lemonade and Cadbury Ice Cream bars the party was fantastic. Each girl had there very own hat and took turns playing USA Olympic themed games. The girls even had a chance to make there own bracelet and USA sign in preparation for the games. The big finale was serving up Cadbury ice cream bars in chocolate, vanilla, carmel, and almond. My favorite was the chocolate ice cream covered in smooth chocolate. The ice cream was sweet without being so overpowering when mixed with the chocolate. My husband who is not the biggest ice cream fan loved the carmel bars and thought they were the perfect size and a great summer treat. So I will be the first to admit that I live a pretty comfortable lifestyle. Does that mean I live in 250,000 dollar home and drive a Mercedes- no but I do have a car, middle class home, and food to put on the table for my daughter. My husband and I have recently made a bet to see who can loose the most weight and get a new "toy". Well of course I wanted an outrageously priced pair of shoes and started to search... well in my search I found an amazing story. A women wants to get her 30 year old daughter a pair of christian louboutins for her birthday....it sounds like she had her daughter young and worked her butt off to provide. I just had a birthday myself and am approaching the 30 mark so I know what a big deal an amazing birthday present can be-really a total life changer! There are over 2500 hundred of us and if we each contribute less than a dollar this women can get her daughter her shoes. I found it amazing that on this site people are asking for all kinds of things and she was honest-her daughter wants shoes that they know are a huge luxury and she is doing what she can to get them! I know as a mom myself I would do anything for my kids and I want to do something for someone else for once! Who is with me....let's get this lady her louboutins before her daughter turns 30!
