Glo Bag & Shirt Giveaway!

As you have read I am determined to get in shape before the end of the summer-I know a little backwards but I have a plan and a YMCA membership! So while at the gym I had an old book bag and it was filled with my swim stuff, a water bottle, lotions, etc. When all was said and done I ended up with everything covered in lotion and one gross mess to clean. I knew there had to be a better way and the lady next me was sure to let me in on her secret-a Glo Bag.
If you are like me you have probably never heard of this bag so I asked her to explain. She pulled out this amazing bag with everything in its own compartment and it all fit into the locker nice and neat and you can access everything in the bag without yanking your bag in and out of the locker a billion times. How could I of missed this amazing bag? Perhaps it is because I am only 5 days into the workout lifestyle so I have no idea about gear but know that if you have every experienced a lotion explosion you must own a Glo Bag. So while I searched their website I also found that they were featured on The Doctors-not sure how I missed that episode and they offer free shipping in the USA. Here are some more great features:includes a hanging toiletry bag and a wet bag, vented area for shoes, and extra pockets for cell phone/water/etc. The company also offers great clothing and donates a percentage of all profit to Girls in the Game. Be sure to take a look at all the great things offered from this amazing company!

Freedom Giveaway Hop

Everyday I have so much spam in my email with work from home scams it is incredible! I want to earn a little extra income while being at home with my daughter but did not want to fall into one of those traps. So I found a great book-Busy Mom's Ultimate Guide to Finding the Perfect Work at Home Job. This book is amazing! It has every topic covered from transcription services to paid surveys. The book covers several job bid sites and job search sites. I was able to go directly to the site and feel very comfortable finding surveys to take and earn points. Here is what the author has to say, "This guide provides a listing of over 160 companies that hire people to work at home. These companies hire people as independent contractors. This means you're your own boss. While most of these companies are located within the United States, some do employ people located in other countries". The book is available for $4.99 which is incredible since you will have that added piece of mind. Today I have been very successful at earning a small income using tips and sites from the book...I can't wait to explore more options once school begins!

Enter to win a $50 giftcard from Hoohobbers

I am always on the look out for a great personalized item for our daughter. We gave her an older/unusual name so it is impossible to just wander into a store and pick up something personalized which is so frustrating! Well I have found my new favorite personalized website-Hoohobbers. The store offers a ton of unique speciality products for babies and toddlers. The company has been in business since 1981 and their products are made in USA. I have the directors chair for my daughter and could not be any happier. She no longer likes to sit in the highchairs at restaurants and is too short for the boosters so I thought the chair could be the answer. The chair is light enough for my daughter to carry and we have used it as a booster seat (includes strap for chair), a reading chair, and on the beach. I love that it folds and cleans up easily...we once had an ice cream incident in the backyard and after spraying off the chair with the house it was as good as new! The website is very easy to navigate and shipping is super fast. Chairs come in a variety of colors and font. Here is our chair:

School will be here before we know it!

So today in mail we received my daughter's summer reading list....well more like a please make sure you read these books to your child before school starts list...but all the same I began to get nervous! I mean in less than two months my little baby will be off to school and then before I know it she will be graduating from college and what will I do with my life! I know its a bit dramatic so then I calmed down and started looking at the rest of the papers which included school supplies and dress code. Well at least one thing in that packet will be easy-a quick click over to French Toast and all her school clothes were bought. No need to drive around trying to find an all white sweater....I did this at Easter time and it was a nightmare! My favorite part of back to school shopping at French Toast is that it is super quick and they have a wide variety of sizes. Girls school uniforms start as small as a 2t and they offer slim and plus sizes which is fantastic since not everyone can find what they need at the mass retail stores! French Toast also offers boy uniforms and accessories so we can shop quickly and have everything ordered to my front door. Not sure what your child needs? French Toast offers a great link that allows you to look up your school by state and city to find out what the dress code is for that particular school....made me feel better knowing I could double check without calling the school!

Want to win? One lucky reader will win 1 top & 1 bottom of their choice! Contest ends 6/30/11-open to US residents. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Fantastic Jewelry at an Affordable Price-less than $20!

With mother's day and father's day passing I decided it was time to get myself a nice piece of "mom" jewelry. I did not want something generic so I began to search for a unique piece that would fit my everyday wardrobe and personality. That is when I stumbled upon Limoges Jewelery....it was love at first click! The selection of jewelry available is incredible and it seemed that they had just about everything I could imagine. Then to my surprise not only was the jewelry priced very reasonably but they also offered free engraving! Great Saute Pan for a Great Price!

I have been on the hunt to redo my kitchen pots and pans for some time but I wanted to find something that fit into my life and would last.  I recently cam across the Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan and immediately fell in love with the red color. The pan is very chic and I knew that it would fit into my kitchen perfectly not to mention my daughter loves red! I was very excited about the fact that because the pan was red my little one agreed to eat anything I cooked in the "princess pan"-so worth it at this point! When it comes to cleaning the white interior of the pan makes it perfect for any busy person. I could actually see if I missed anything instead of tilting the pan round and round in the light hoping everything came off. Now I simply cook our dinner and then have an easy clean- I feel really great about having this pan it is durable and looks just as great as the first day! The pan is Eco friendly and PFAO free. Want to buy it? You can buy your very own Bialetti Aeternum Saute Pan at many retailers including Amazon.com, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Kitchen Kapers. Feel free to share your own amazing pan stories below :)

On the hunt for fantastic invitations

My husband & I will only have one little angel so when her birthday or any major event comes around I get a little crazy about the invitations. I like to hint at the theme without giving it any (her first year I sent out pink poodles cards and she received nothing but dog themed gifts!) so I learned my lesson and look for something classy and unusual. Amy Adele has some of the most adorable kids birthday invites I have seen in a long time! There are so many choices and they are so full of personality. I decided to go with the Garden Kitty invitations since my daughter is such a little cat lover! I love that you get to choose your own wording and even the font color. I was able to scroll down the page and find perfect wording for a three year old and put it on my kitty invitations. The whole order processing was super easy and fast. I could add my words, change the font, and choose the color then click checkout. The invitations arrived in a cute little bow and plastic with envelopes. I am super excited to hear about my daughter's adorable invitations....no matter what party you are planning this summer you will be sure to make a statement with invitations from Any Adele.

Sweet Germ Filled Summertime!

We are in the process of completely potty training even in public which means no more pull ups! But that also means public restrooms-eek! This is beyond my least favorite part of the process....for some reason my daughter thinks everything in the room is a toy-especially that disgusting little trash can full of someone unflushable products. I knew I would need to arm myself with some serious cleaner except I wanted something that did not smell like I just dipped my daughter in alcohol. Prefense is a great hand sanitizer that is made of all natural ingredients with no alcohol. One application can last all day which is amazing for our fast paced life. One application is just as great as 10 hand washings with means I don't have to change a soggy toddler over and over because she thinks the sink is a giant swimming pool! Prefense protects against staph, strep, E.coli, drug resistant MRSA strains, and more. The sanitizer protects against other hand sanitizers can't and it does not dry out your hands! Trust me this is the must have sanitizer for summer-one bottle is very affordable and last for 120 applications.

Want to win? One lucky reader will win their very own bottle of Prefense. Contest open to US residesnts-ends 6/23/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Great Book for Summer-"Here, Home, Hope"

I decided this summer I am going to read at least one book....I always set out with these wild expectations and decided this summer to keep it simple and come fall I will feel so accomplished! Well the story of "Here, Home, Hope" grabbed my attention right away. It is a story about a woman's journey as she begins to take take charge of her life. The book is available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble (ISBN-13:   978-1-60832-091-2) and is a very quick read. The plan was to read while my daughter napped but I found myself sneaking in a page whenever possible. As my daughter climbed the slides I read and read losing track of time in this amazing story. My favorite things about the story is how it makes you question what your life is and what you want it to become.  Her story is so realistic- a suburban mom of two that has a nice life yet everything seems out of whack. Isn't it funny we always judge people on what they have instead of their feelings? If noting else the book has a strong message to live now and appreciate all you have in life-be sure to look for a copy it is a great book to add to the summer reading list!

New Newtons Fruit Thins!

I am really trying to lose a little weight before I am in wedding this fall but it seems impossible with all the snacks taking over my house! So I began the search for healthy snacks for my daughter because lets face it I know I will eat them right along with her! Newton has released a new cookie called Newtons Fruit Thins. I had the pleasure of trying the blueberry brown sugar fruit and I loved the taste and texture. My daughter also loves the cookies which is a plus since we can replace all those fatty cookies with something I feel great about giving my child. Overall my family loved the cookies and I was pleased with the nutritional content.

One UGLee Comfortable Pen!

As you have read in the past I have arthritis and feel like a 100 year old lady trapped in a 20 something body. Well I write a ton each day and my wrist and fingers always feel like a pile of limp noodles. When I was approached to try the UGLee Pen I thought why not-a pen is a pen right? Well when my pen arrived I am a little skeptical and thought how can this pen make me feel any different from adding a grip to my current pen? I was so wrong! I picked up the pen and was in love...it is like a tiny little massage for even the sorest fingers. The UGLee Pen is mated with the smoothest ink system known, smoother than any roller ball, gel ink, or fountain ink pen. The UGLee Pen only weights 11 grams. That is less than 1/2 ounce! Less mass, means less inertia, more comfort. The overall shape as well as the detailed contours are perfectly engineered to follow the anatomy of the hand. You don't have to grip this material, it grips you! I am a true believer now in my UGLee Pen and will never use another pen :)

Want to win? One lucky reader will win their very own UGLee Pen. Contest ends 6/19/11. Contest is open to US residents. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each entry.

Looking for great toys for summer?

Summer time is in full swing and that means a ton of kids home with nothing to do...eek! It is so shocking to me how quickly kids can get bored so I have a plan of attack educational toys that we can pull out everyday. I will also be watching the neighbor kids so I plan on making a chart and each child can pick a game that we can play. Now I had to search for games that would be good for ages 2-6 and not have characters (the little boy refuses to play girly things) which led me to the WOW Toys website. Their toys are designed to help young children strengthen their knowledge of basic concepts that spark the imagination and communication skills. We have several of the games and one of the cars. My daughter loves the mommy/baby match game and it helps her practice her animal sounds, recognition of similar objects (example- a mommy cat & kitten) and how to put puzzle pieces together. The other children also love to play the game and have turned into their own little memory game.  Our other favorite game is the Snail's Pace Race which is a great game to help build color recognition and teaches my little two year old how to take turns and be patient. The game has wooden pieces and is very well built...I see this game lasting for years even if we play it over and over again this summer.
WOW toys also offers toys for all ages including infants. My daughter has a car with a two people and it is very easy for her to put the people in the car without help which makes us both happy. The best part of the toys is that no batteries are required! Here are some of our favorite toys:

Allergies are hitting my family hard this year!

Every where I look in my house I see balled up little tissues and red noses. We have been hit hard by the allergy season and I was at my wits end. The worst part of all the runny noses is that my lovely little toddler does not always reach for a tissue...sometimes its a shirt, the blanket on the couch, my clothes....needless to say I am not overly excited about all the things that become impromptu tissues. So in my frustration I began googling and searching for something that would just keep me a tiny bit sane and I found the Sniffle Buddies. The Sniffel Buddy is a band that your toddler (or anyone) can wear around the wrist to help with the sniffles. The bands are made from bamboo and organic cotton fabrics which is awesome since bamboo is thought to be a natural anti-microbial. I love the fact that we can wash our little buddy and use over and over without having the pile up of tissues. Since we have had our Sniffle Buddy my daughter has been using it when she find her nose running and has kept her hands free of snot! This means less germs all over my house and the playground-who would of thought that a clever little band could have to many great effects in our lives.

Want to win? One lucky person will win a Sniffle Buddies in their choice of color. Contest open to US residents-contest ends 6/14/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Craft time is in full swing!

As many of you have read my daughter loves to make crafts! Now only if I could convince her that coloring is just as fun as getting out the glue and paints and whatever else we can find in the closet. Lucky for us we have a glass top dining table which is so easy to clean. After all of the crafting I just have to spray down with a little vinegar and water and we are good to go! Become has a very large selection of tables and we are in the process of trying to find a nice square dining table that will seat six. The possibilities are endless at this point and I have even found a table with six black chairs-it is so trendy I am sure that it will fit nicely into the dining area.
Not in the market for a new table? Become has a large selection of vinyl tablecloths that are sure to fit into any setting. I like to keep a few table clothes in the car for impromptu picnics in the car whether to use as a blanket in the grass or on the picnic tables (you never know what could be on that table) especially since my little one like to put all the food on the table instead of keeping it on the plate. Table clothes are available in all sizes and my personal favorite is the  patriotic stars tablecloth which will be perfect for the 4th of July! While shopping for the holiday don't forget to shop for chairs for the parade-dish chairs are both practical and comfortable. We plan on getting one for the toy room and will take it with us because of how easy it is to fold and go!

Bright Starts create Bright Smiles

We have many new babies entering the family this summer which means I get to go out and buy all those cute little baby products. When my daughter was little she was very into bright colors and toys which of course we did not put on the registry! I thought that light yellow and green would be soothing but she had other plans....soon our house was filled with lion rattles, yellow vibrant bouncers, and toys that sing. Thanks to bright starts we were able to find many toys to keep our little one occupied at a very reasonable price.  Bright Starts strives to supply fresh ideas that inspire creativity in even the youngest little angel. Here are some of our favorite products:

Bright Starts has received many awards throughout the years including Dr. Toy's 10 Best Toys-2010, Parent's Magazine the Best Toys of 2010, and the Creative Child Magazine Preferred Choice Award 2010.  The company offers everything from bouncers to toddler toys and they offer free shipping on qualifying orders.  Not sure which product is best for baby? Bright Starts products are available in many retail stores including Meijer, Babies R US, Target, and Walmart.

Never to old for a lovie!

So my daughter will be starting pre-school in the fall....both excited & scary but my first thought is "oh no! what about little bear". She has this adorable Blanket Buddy from Vitamins Baby that she has been snuggling and loving since she was three months old. This little guy looks great for all the adventures he has endured and countless times he has been washed. My favorite part of the blanket buddies is that they are sold in a 2 pack which means that I can wash little bear without little miss every knowing that he is missing! Overall I am a huge fan of Vitamin Baby-they have some great clothes and have provided by little one with countless hours of friendship from her little bear.  We had a very hard time finding cute preemie clothes since our little peanut was so tiny but Vitamin Baby proved to be a reliable source that had stylish clothes to fit even the tiniest princess. If you have any baby showers coming in the near future be sure to take a look around their website...you are sure to find something for any little angel including a great selection of Blanket Buddies!
