Welcome our newest sponsor It's Sew Lisa

I would like to give a warm welcome to It's so Lisa! We have had the pleasure to review one of her homemade dolls & owls...both were a huge hit! Here is a little more about our sponsor: "I am a busy, full time mom, to two little boys. Although I have always had a basic knowledge of sewing it wasn't until our recent move to a fairly rural area that I dove into it and let my sewing machine take over the little spare time I had. Please visit often as I update regularly". My daughter is in a big baby doll phase but I get worried about her sleeping with the plastic dolls because they are not comfortable and they have small parts. It's Sew Lisa has incredible dolls that can be made to match your child's hair color and they come dressed in an adorable outfit which can be removed. My favorite part of the doll is that the eyes, nose, and mouth are all sewn onto the phase of the baby so no worries on the eyes falling off.  The hair is made of soft felt like material that is perfect for snuggling. She also makes adorable robots & owls. My daughter has decided that her owl is the perfect size toddler pillow :) We have washed both the doll & owl and they have survived several washes which is amazing since my daughter loves to sleep with her baby every night and I can feel good since I know the doll can easily be washed and cleaned.

Want to win? One lucky reader will win either a doll or robot of their choice. Contest is open to US residents. Contest ends 4/8/11-please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment

Calling all trendsetters!

As you all know by now we are months into potty and things are going very well. My daughter is almost completely in underwear during the day! Of course she did not want any of the character underwear available in the store so we started looking for some unique trainers. In my search I found Conscious Children's Clothing. Here is a little more about the creator: "Hi I am a mom of 2 boys and am inspired by them since they love to rock their skulls. Conscious Children's Clothes are designed by me and handmade by me with care so that all clothing is durable for your little one. I make clothing for newborns up to size 6. I offer Hip, Punk, Rockabilly, and Organic Handmade Children's Clothing, Blankets, and Accessories. Custom Orders always welcome!!" We have the amazing training pants below and they are fantastic. We have washed them over & over again and the design is still in place and the color is as vibrant as the day we received them in the mail. I love all of the different styles available in the shop...my daughter loves the day of the dead dress and the spring kimono. This  shop truly offers a little something for everyone!  Here are our trainers:

Welcome Jewel of the Lion!

Who out there loves sweets? I am beyond addicted to sugar  and I love to try new things (my ultimate addition is fudge & ice cream) Well in my house when we have something really good there is a good chance I will only get one piece (I tend to eat things slowly which drives my family nuts so they eat all before I get back for seconds).  So when I was offered the chance to review fudge from Jewel of the Lion I was very excited that nobody was home to see the mail arrive! I have tried both the strawberry cheesecake & grasshopper pie.  As soon as I took a bite of the grasshopper pie I was in love. The fudge is not overwhelming and has a very smooth texture. I hate when fudge is so sweet that two bites in you feel sugar overload! The cookie crust was the perfect texture compliment and made me want to eat the entire 1/2 pound (don't worry I did not give in....although I should mention it was probably because my family was beginning to arrive home and I needed to hide the goods).  I personally did not get the chance to try the strawberry cheesecake because I left it out on the counter and we had company but the overall consensus was that the fudge had the right amount of sugar and tasted "just like cheesecake factory candy" (opinion provided by 6 other adults with fabulous taste in food). I was highly impressed with the package and the quick shipment.  If you need something sweet to add to Easter dinner or just because you love sweets I would take a look around the Jewel of the Lion-there are so many choices its incredible!
Want to win? One lucky person will win 1/2 lb. of fudge of their choice. Contest is open to US residents-ends 4/6/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email per entry.

Moody Monday-time for a giveaway!

Today is one of those days that seems to last forever! So to pass some time let's welcome a new sponsor-Little Tickle. This store has some of the most adorable dresses I have ever seen. I am in love with the seahorse themed dress....can't you just imagine this dress on the boardwalk! Here is a little more about our sponsor: "LittleTickle" was born out of a love for creating something unique for my own amazing daughter, Sophia. At first, I was just into little girl items, but now that I have my sweet baby boy, he has inspired me to make boy outfits that are not only cute, but also comfy enough for playtime. Have fun looking around my shop and I hope that you find something special for your little love".  What a perfect shop for your spring/summer shopping needs!

Sponsor Highlight-My Artsy Baby

I am ready to start changing the toy room. As of right now it is painted white with hardwood floors with a few flower pieces of artwork on the wall. Not very "playful" for one little lady who is beginning to spend lots of time in her room. At first I though maybe a tea party theme or princess but both are very overdone. So now my next two ideas-cats or fish....both will last at least a couple years without me having to repaint everything. I started to think about painting the walls or just sticking those wall stickers up but both meant emptying out the entire room and a ton of work. Back to the think tank and I decide to just change the curtains and artwork-it can go a long way and I won't have to worry about my little one who is now obsessed with purple to change to another color in a month. Now I decided to go with fish but have you ever seen the fish paintings available? It is either snap shots of realistic fish or something finding nemo....this just could not be all that was available! They like it was fate I typed in the wrong thing in google and up came My Artsy Baby! She is an amazing artist & mother of five! Everything can be created to order and I just told her I would like something with fish and the finished product far exceeded my expectations.  The artist was very easy to work with and sent me over a photo of the product even before it arrived at my home. The canvas arrived very well wrapped with an adorable ribbon. As soon as we unwrapped it by daughter was taken in with the fish and I was amazed at the detail. Not only was the front of the painting to die for but she included bubbles on the edges to create a complete finished product. She has amazing growth charts and painting available online but as she says "the sky's the limit" when it comes to creating a custom piece :) Here is our one of a kind:

Sunday morning=chocolate toast!

In my house Sunday is the one day where my daughter gets to be in charge of meals and I must tell you it is fantastic. Its the one day I am ok with eating meals out of order and just having whatever her little heart desires. Well this Sunday I was very excited when she requested chocolate toast. This of course is toast with Nutella spread on top-delicious & nutritious! Nutella is a tasty hazelnut spread that contains quality ingredients such as skim milk and a hint of cocoa. Nutella spread on whole wheat bread, or any multigrain product, with orange juice or skim milk is a good combination for a balanced breakfast that the entire family will enjoy. Nutella contains no artificial colors or preservatives. Last weekend I was given the opportunity to host a Nutella party with several of my mommy group friends and it was amazing. I do have to admit I was not sure of how it would taste since I am not a huge hazelnut fan but it was very pleasing to the taste buds. The texture was very creamy and had just the right amount of chocolate. Nutella has been a breakfast tradition in Europe for ages and I am excited that it will now be a part of our household. Everyone at the party had a great time and we have many new Nutella fans! I have put Nutella on toast, bagels, and even pretzels. My favorite part of Nutella is that it is safe for those with peanut allergies so I can be comfortable having the jar out in the open and not worry about my daughter developing allergies! If you have busy mornings or need a quick snack I suggest picking up a jar of Nutella-its quick and kids will love eating "chocolate" for breakfast!

Welcome ShaToBu: the workout you wear!

Ok we have decided to go to the beach this summer! I was so excited then this dreaded cloud appeared-beach means swimsuit! It's not just the swimsuit but all the photos that will last forever in time of my daughters first time visiting the ocean. Now I am not a huge work out fan so I like the idea of things that can help me get in shape while going on with my normal life. ShaToBu - The Workout You Wear - is the revolutionary shaper that helps women shape, tone and burn more calories during everyday activities. The benefits go beyond ordinary shapewear - ShaToBu instantly gives a sleeker silhouette, but women can also see and feel a difference in their bodies with regular use over time. By incorporating resistance bands right into the garment, muscles work a little harder and more calories are burned during daily activities. I was not sure how I it would feel but after using the ShaToBu for about a month I feel better about myself. It does not hug or bunch like I thought it would which is super exciting. Overall a great product that helps burn some extra calories while going on with your day.
Want to win? One lucky fan will win a ShaToBu of their choice. Contest ends 3/30/11. Open to US residents-please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Bring on the rain-we have a cat raincoat!

So here is my cute story of the day...I told my daughter we could not go out and play because it was raining-her response "oh mom I have the kitty water coat!". Of course she was talking about her Kidorable kitty rain coat :) Of all the companies I have come across that sell rain gear Kidorable really knows how to please every little imagination. Kidorable is distinguished by their high quality, unique collections - from frogs to fairies, dinosaurs to dolphins, and ladybugs to lotus flowers - sold at apparel, shoe and gift retailers across the globe. I cannot begin to express our love for Kidorable products! We have a kitty swim towel, backpack, and our newest addition kitty rain coat (obviously little miss is a cat lover). Her backpack is the perfect size since she is so petite and it does not hang down to her knees like traditional backpacks. We are able to fit all the snacks & cups in her "purse" and I get to carry my own purse full of mommy only belonging...it is a dream come true! Of course we also could not live without our pink kitty swim towel or raincoat. Do you want to know my favorite part of the coat? The detail is incredible...it has an adorable fish pocket and on the back is a paw print (not to mention it comes on a super cute hanger). Not only does the company make great products but they support great causes. From March 21 through April 4, Kidorable is partnering with the Children’s Cancer Research Fund to help support a great cause (and get a cool free gift, too). Kidorable has offered my readers a free Kidorable umbrella when they make a minimum $20 purchase on www.kidorable.comKidorable will donate 10% of their purchase to the Children's Cancer Research Fund, bringing kids health, hope and happiness by revolutionizing the way childhood cancer is treated worldwide. Flutter on over to www.kidorable.com and use coupon code CCRFUMB2 at checkout to get a free umbrella (with $20 purchase), and help save a child’s life.  Remember to add your free umbrella to your cart first. I could go on and on about their great products & company but I will let you visit the web page and fall in love for yourself :)

Let's Welcome Ludmila Couture

As any new mom (or any mom at all!) I spend a ton of time making sure my daughter has everything she needs and dress her in all the trendy clothes. Well my husband & I had a chance to get away for the weekend and I realized that while taking care of everyone else I have forgotten to make sure I still feel great in my clothes. So I decided it was time to make a change and as you have read I love pieces that are one of kind and made to fit not the mass market clothes. During the hunt I found Ludmila Couture. Here is a little more about the shop: "Ludmila the owner of  Ludmila Couture, and her team are serving Los Angeles and its surrounding areas for over 7 years, specializing in creating exceptional stage outfits, evening and special occasion gowns,   as well as theatrical costumes. They are committed to providing the highest quality services at competitive prices. The highly valued and dedicated crew continuously strives to provide excellent service". I am sure some of you are sceptical about buying online but her clothes run very true to size. I have the purple sparkle shirt below and it so flattering. I am very aware of clothes that hug in me in all the wrong places but this shirt has a great neckline and hugs the body without exposing any little spots I have hid the past few months with hoodies & sweats! I am very pleased with the company and will be sure to order more for summer!

Potty training on the go continued-welcom My Great Potty Adventure!

Well my daughter is in big girl undies 80% of the time which is amazing! Well we had a little scare in the public bathroom (a poorly made travel seat almost caused her to fall in!) and now she flat out refuses to use any bathroom but the one at home. Well I just knew that there had to be some sort of solution which is the potty passport. My Great Potty Adventure created a potty passport to ease worried children about using "strange potties". The passport has several locations marked and once the child goes in that location they get a sticker on the location. This was a double bonus for my daughter because she loves stickers! So far she has gone at the grocery store and at her Nana's house...just a few more stickers until she gets her prize and I can print a completion certificate. I highly recommend buying one of these as soon as you purchase the potty so it is on hand when the scary public restroom moment arises (p.s the company has super fast shipping!)
Want to win? One lucky reader will win a potty passport of their own. Contest ends 3/24/11-open to US residents. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Welcome Pet Cakes

As you all know my daughter is a huge puppy fan! In our search for more puppy toys that would be suitable for a toddler we found petcakes. Each PetCakes animal features a “frosting” hat, comes nestled in its own cupcake wrapper and has its own whimsical backstory. At first look, children will see a delicious cupcake but will then be surprised by the pet they find snuggled inside! Combining sweet faces and cuddly plush with a clever cupcake theme, PetCakes are collectible and provide hours of open-ended imaginative play. PetCakes make perfect gifts for a special friend and for pet lovers. They are ideal for birthday party favors, stocking stuffers and as rewards for good grades. Most of all, PetCakes deliver the kind of fun kids eat up!More than six additional generations of PetCakes will begin debuting in 2011 featuring new puppies, kittens, bears, rabbits, raccoons and other furry friends. My daughter loves her "pupcake" as she calls them :) Here are our adorable petcakes:

Today is one of my favorite days of the year so why not celebrate by featuring my favorite artist of the year....drum roll please.....Molly Cait Couture! These meticulously handcrafted garments flaunt the perfect blend of vintage and current materials and trims. Each is one of a kind and loaded with sparkles and frills. March Madness Giveaway-5 of 5!

Let's give a big welcome to Noodles Kids. This is a great company filled with handmade kids products made in Peru. The designs are very different from anything I have seen on the market. My daughter has the Flutterby Purse and she gets very excited to carry it everywhere we go! I love the button closure on the back of the bag that is very easy for a toddler to use. The purse is also deep enough that things will stay inside the bag without buttoning the bag. The best part is that purse has an adorable matching hat and several clips that would complete any outfit.

Want to win? One lucky reader will win the Flutterby Purse. Contest ends 3/20/11. Please leave one comment per entry with an email.

March Madness Giveaway-4 of 5! Ten Winners!

The Baby Bjorn name has been a large part of our household since my daughter's birth so when asked to review the new Baby Bjorn cup I was overly excited. "The cup is the perfect first cup for your child, specially designed for tiny hands and a strong will to "do it myself”. The cup’s ergonomic design, with easy to grip materials and soft, distinct shapes helps baby learn to drink from an open glass, just like mum and dad. The cup is pleasant to hold, rests firmly on the table and is hard to knock over." My daughter was very excited to use a cup at the table and continues to ask for her big girl cup to use during the day.  The cup is recommended for children as young as 8 months and is very easy to wash by hand. My favorite attribute of the cup is that my daughter can hold it easily and that it can go in both the microwave and freezer.  Baby Bjorn will be releasing the cup in stores in April but if you can't wait enter to win yours now!

Let's welcome another one of our fantastic sponsors Saffron Kids.  This creative mother/daughter shop offers a little something for everyone. Here is a little more about our sponsor: "My mom has been sewing since high school and tried very hard to get me to take interest in sewing for several years. It wasn't until I was given a sewing machine by my friend (a hand me down from her mother after I helped move her to a retirement home), that I began sewing for my own daughter. My mom is of course, delighted. We sell at Janet's Floral Design in Mansfield, OH, as well as through various craft shows around the northeast Ohio area.We are working on expanding our offerings to include cloth play mats and puppets.  Those will be listed soon. We're currently working on building inventory for two large craft shows in April and June".

Easy toddler travel continues

As you have read we have been traveling back & forth from our home to our home town a ton this past few weeks...anything that could possible make a 4 hour drive easier is a miracle in my book. I have solved keeping toys close to y daughter now I just needed to keep her comfortable. Usually when she falls asleep her neck gets so stiff it wakes her up but not anymore thanks to Lou Bugs Boutique! My daughter has both a travel neck pillow & car seat straps (matching of course!) and they are a perfect fit with her car seat. We have washed both several times (thanks to the little snack monster) and the pillow has held its shape very nicely. My daughters favorite part of the pillow is that is has "two faces". Some days she likes to use the pink "face" and other days she wants the cherry "face"....this is great if you also have an opinionated fashionista! The shipping on her products is very fast and pricing is beyond reasonable. With spring break & summer vacation approaching this is a must have for any tiny traveler!

Want to win? One lucky reader will win their very own travel pillow. Contest is open to US residents-contest ends 3/16/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Calling all sports fans!

As you have read I have been on the hunt for great baby shower gifts for my massive amount of invites! In my search I found Mixed Marshall Arts by Heather.  I actually found some of the greatest bibs for my daughter-she does not keep the Velcro ones on at all so I was pleasantly surprised when the bib had snaps (and great terry cloth on the underside). The bibs are also adjustable which is a plus if you have a child that does not meet standard size...my daughter is a tiny little peanut and I find that most things are way too big for her! I also have a burp cloth that is super soft and well made. We have washed both items tons of times and I can say that they are built to last.

Want to win? Mixed Marshall Arts by Heather is offering one lucky ready the gift set shown here. It includes 4 items total-great for any little sports fan! Contest ends 3/17/11-open to US residents. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Possibly the greatest invention ever!

Once a month we make the long journey back home (4 hours with a toddler...imagine the horror) and I always spend the drive handing back snacks & toys one at a time every 2 minutes...it is exhausting! Well just when I thought all hope was lost along came my sanity savor-the kiddie catch-all! It is an amazing concept-the try hooks on the side of the car seat which means when my daughter throws/drops a toy she has easy access to another toy no mommy needed. The kiddie catch-all is not available in stores but has super fast shipping (I think mine arrived in two days). Right now they are offering a buy one get one free deal (it ends this week) so hurry and order yours now!
Want to win? One lucky reader will win one kiddie catch-all. Contest ends 3/15/11-please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Keeping up with the Easter theme-do you have any idea on what you will put in the kiddos Easter baskets? I am trying to shy away from candy this year but keep with an Easter theme. Under a Shady Tree has some of the greatest felt food and she has an adorable Easter theme set. My daughter can now have pretend candy with her babies and her teeth will stay in tact! The toys are very realistic and durable not to mention cute!

On the hunt for the perfect Easter dress!

I get really excited about shopping two times a year: Christmas & Easter. Why? Well it is the one time of the year that I can dress my princess is an amazing dress without being judged as over the top. Sure my daughter goes out all the time in sparkles and lace but those two holidays are a time when I get to find the perfect dress. In my search I came across Crochet Play. I have never seen a dress like this in stores anywhere. The top is crocheted and the bottom is a fabulous print. We have a white one with floral print that my daughter is eager to wear. Not only will this be a great Easter dress but the material is so soft and breathable that I see us using it a ton this summer! The dresses are very reasonably priced and are made for all seasons. Don't have a little girl? Crochet Play also makes adorable animals for your little prince.
Want to win? One lucky reader will win one dress (sponsor's choice) in their choice of size (6 months, 12months, 2T, or 3T). Contest is open to US residents-contest ends 3/14/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email per comment.

Crib Creations-Pleasing babies since 2009

Spring is coming and I don't know about you but I am drowning in baby shower invitations! I have been on the search for gifts that will last and will stand apart from all the other gifts. I usually try to go with one thing off the registry and then one handmade item (let's face it they are usually better quality) While searching for gifts I found Crib Creations.  They have a great special going on now: Buy 4 burp clothes get one free (I also love to wrap the gift in blankets, burp clothes, and bibs). Well while I did not even begin my baby shower shopping I did get one of the cutest blocks for my daughter. We have washed it several times and it has been thrown and stacked (not to mention sat on) and still held its shape. I love these blocks because they are truly a toy that will grow with the baby (or make great towers for toddlers) Here is a photo of one of the great blocks available:
Want to win? One lucky reader will win one soft block (sponsor's choice). Contest is open to US residents-contest ends 3/13/11. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email per comment.

Win a Periwinkle Jazz Gift Card

Periwinkle Jazz is a super cute shop that focuses on unique up-cycled vintage clothes. Here is what Periwinkle Jazz has to say about the shop,  "each of my pieces of clothing are handmade from vintage fabrics, trimmings, buttons and anything else that inspires me. If you don't see something that perfectly suits you, I would love to make you a custom piece in your favorite colors, a different size or even made from your very own vintage items".  The shop has 100% positive feedback and I can tell you from my personal experience the clothes are made to last! My daughter has the skirt & doll pictured below and let me tell you this skirt has been through it all-red Popsicle, green crayon, and muddy dog prints...best of all it is still white! I am very excited for spring when my daughter can ditch the leggings and run around in her cute up-cycled creation.  We also have the adorable doll that my daughter has taken "swimming" in the tub and sleeps with every night. The quality is amazing as we have had to wash little miss Polly the dolly several times after all her adventures! Truly a great gift for girls of all ages (I love the vintage feel of the design). Great buys and prices all around!
Want to win? Periwinkle Jazz is offering one lucky reader a $15 gift card for use in the etsy shop. Giveaway ends 3/14/11-open to US residents. Please leave one comment per entry with a valid email in each comment.

Potty training on the go!

So I have my first major complaint with potty training-those flushable wipes containers never stayed closed! I bought a whole pack and it was dried out in a few days which makes for one unhappy mommy. I thought to myself to put them in one of the large tubs but it was way to big to lug around....I have finally ditched the giant diaper bag and am never going back! So it was time to find a travel wipes container that would keep things fresh which led me to Cute 'n Sassy Creations.  I really wanted something that was not so babyish and fit into my lifestyle and that is exactly what I received. The fabric actually matches adult bags and does not make me feel like people are waiting for pacifiers and bottles to come pouring out of my bag at any second. I was highly impressed with the attention to detail. On my particular case the trim was very neatly placed and the bow added just the right amount of class.  What is my favorite thing about the case you ask...it actually keeps those stinking flushable wipes moist and ready to use (not to mention I feel like a lady again instead of like a pack mule!) Here is my adorable case:

So my daughter is obsessed with Fancy Nancy! We are having her birthday party in a few months and I knew that it had to be a Fancy Nancy tea party theme :) So my quest began-I found the tutu, decorations, personalized shirt, doll, then time to search for the cake and to my amazement I found Jackie's Flowers.
