Slippers, pillows, dog bed-oh my!

What do slippers, pillows, and dog beds all have in common you may ask-well they are some of my favorite products from Nature's Sleep. The company offers memory foam mattresses, pillows, toppers, bed frames, and so much more! I personally am a fan of the slippers:

They are super comfy with just the right amount of "fluff". The slipper forms to your foot without loosing all of its cushion and comfort which is amazing considering I flatten out most of my slippers in a few weeks. I also like that they are offered in several styles and are lightweight. In the winter I have to wear slippers to keep my feet warm but they cannot be heavy or my arthritis causes issues....I am very excited to see how these preform in the winter! This would be the perfect gift for the holidays because they are slippers that will last and be used all year long. Available in both open toe and closed toe the possibilities are endless!

Nothing worse than the smell of wet towels!

So as you know my daughter is a baby fish and constantly in the pool. We have picked up more swim lessons and with the heat it means we have wet swim suits and towels all over the place. I cannot seem to keep up with the laundry...not sure if it is exhaustion, heat, or pure laziness but it is NOT happening. So yesterday I washed some in my free & clear scentless soapp and they still smelled so musty! I was really dissapointed because I absolutly HATE when you go to dry off with a towel and it has that smell. So I decided to crack open the bottle of gain that I received and give it a try. Normally I do not like heavy scents but something about the smell made me think of summer and just light summer days. So I used it on the towels that sat the longest and when the dryer was done they had the perfect scent-not to overwhleming and just fresh enough to smell when the towel was near your face. Just look at all the varities available:

Your clothes will smell great and be super clean. I think we have officially found our new scent-no more musty towels!

*All thoughts are my own-thank you to Gain for providing me with product*

It finally happened....I almost peed my pants

So as you know my daughter is on a so called "tour de bathrooms". I swear everywhere we go she has to go into the bathroom and look around....this means hand sanitizer galore and a very unhappy mommy/daddy. While I did not understand why she couldn't just use the bathroom while it was right there and had to wait to make a mad dash at the worst time I now know the urgency of having to go when you have to go!
So here it is my worst nightmare for all to read...being out with family on a fishing trip and having to go like nobody's business. I rush over to the bathroom shack and there is no way my butt is going to touch anything in that place. There was no way to hold on to anything or do the squat stance either so back I went to the sound of water and a very full bladder. I swear I was contemplating either peeing behind a tree with no toilet paper or wetting my pants and tossing them in the trash...my bladder was that full! Lesson of the story I ended up with an infection from holding in my pee for way to long. So I knew someone amazing, intelligent person had to have come up with a solution for the squat and pee or hold it until you burst problem. Introducing my new find Go Girl...a great device that woman can use while standing up! No longer is my husband the only one that has nothing to fear when he enters a public restroom-I now have the power to also pee standing up! Go Girl is very easy to transport and hygienic. My Go Girl is now in my glove box so I am prepared to use it anytime the situation arises. I always toss it into my purse when going on shopping trips because let's face it you never know what will be behind that bathroom stall. What about the mess? Go Girl has a patented splash guard that prevents your hands and clothes coming in contact with the urine-I cannot tell you enough how simple it is to use! This is a must for camping trips, long car rides filled with rest stops or anytime you may find yourself away from the toilet. Just look at this amazingly discrete tube that fits anywhere.

Go Girl comes in two styles with many options-don't wait until you realize you wish you had a Go Girl get one today!

Great Opportunity to give back-simple click of a mouse!

Green Works has started a great campaign focused on giving back to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. Last spring the artist focused on transforming urban spaces into works of art to promote that cleaning can be beautiful. The artist used Green Works cleaners as the medium to create the murals and inspirations from nature.
You can help the cause by watching the transformation videos at Facebook.com/GreenWorks  and a $1 will be donated to the help raise funds for environmental conservation.  What a great way to impact our youth to start making a positive impact on our planet!

Sponsor Highlight: 1,000 Places to See Before You Die

Ever wonder where you should travel? I consider myself a novice traveler and want to expand my experiences and travel log. This summer we will see Alaska-one more place off my bucket and a place I knew I had to visit before I died. But where else should I go? If you spent time researching ever place imaginable you would have no time to actually experience the world. Thanks to Patricia Schultz, author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, I now can expand my horizon and travel plans.

The book is broken down into eight regions of the world which make planning a trip to each area very easy and efficient. For example if you flip to the Europe section you will find Great Britain and Ireland, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia. Before reading the book I never even considered traveling to Scandinavia....now it is on my top 5. Look at the amazing things Scandinavia has to offer:

My husband and I really enjoyed going through the book and tabbing sections. We used three colors-where we have been, where we plan to go within 10 years, and where we will visit when we retire. After tabbing the entire book I really can appreciate how much the world has to offer and how small my view of "vacation spots" was before reading. Our ultimate goal is to spend our next few summers exposing our daughter to the world and with the book giving recommendations on where to stay, best times to visit, and cost it really cuts down on our leg work. I know I will be including the book in all the graduation gifts this summer....what better motivation to succeed in life than to look at all the amazing photos of the places you can visit! Schultz did an amazing job depicting each country in photos and really bringing each country to life-visit the site here where you can click each flag and get a preview of countries featured in the book.  Be sure to enter our father's day giveaway....3 winners will walk away with their very own copy!

Time to redecorate!

For those of you following along at home we have made the decision to put our house on the market. It is one of those bitter sweet moments where I will miss our first house and all the memories....after all we had our first baby in this house and watched her grow into the amazing little person she is today! With that said we needed some major upgrades both for our future house and to make our house appealing to the masses. My first order of business was the floors...time to get up all the stickers and find some "grown up" rugs. I swear our rugs on the floor were still from 10 years ago when we used lawn chairs for a couch! So step one-find an affordable yet trendy/timeless rug that will last for years and look amazing in our new home. Luckily while scanning the back section of target I saw a Mohawk Rug. How did I never hear of them before? Every other rug I looked at has been $400 plus and this rug was not only in my price point but much better quality. Here is my room before our rug:

and after:

It really pulls all of the brown and blue together to make a put together look. The best part is the rug actually feels like a rug under your feet and not a piece of AstroTurf! We have had several people over to judge the house and see what they would change and have received so many compliments on the rug. I love that it really is a piece of art on the floor and it is something that really represents my style and where our new decor will be headed. I cannot stress enough how much the rug has changed the whole feel of the room and cannot wait to continue using Mohawk Rugs to update each room! The rug is so soft under your feet and easy to clean....we have had everything from squished crackers to cans of playdoh squashed into the rug and it still looks great.  Want to win your own rug? Mohawk will be giving away one rug (5 x8 up to $150) to one lucky reader-use the rafflecopter form below!

Great gift idea for the kid who has everything

As summer approaches it means one thing in my house-birthday season! Every person on both sides of the family seems to have kids either born in July or December which means I have to get creative with gift ideas. We do have several kids that seem to have it all and I struggle trying to find something that will actually get used and be practical. The winner for this summer is BathBlocks! This is one of the best tub toys/pool toys I have seen on the market in a long time. They are amazing little building blocks that can be used on the surface of the water creating endless possibilities and creations for the mind. My daughter personally has this set:

Her imagination goes wild as we play out in the pool and in the tub-if nothing else her language skills for rescue words has increased ten fold! I love that she can build platforms and have her helicopter land on the building...we even bring some squinkies in the tub to use on her creations-each day is a new "town" with new possibilities! What a great classic toy that allows children to not only explore and enjoy water but can also grow and adapt with them as they create new age appropriate adventures and can add more characters to the scene. BathBlocks can also encourage older children to experiment with basic geometry and cause and effect.

We have even added bubbles to the backyard pool and it increases the ability for the blocks to stick together and to the sides of the tub/pool dramatically....trust me I find myself stacking the blocks just to be amazed at well they hold together.
BathBlocks have won Oppenheim Gold awards and are made from bacteria and mildew resistant EVA and contain no PVC or phthalates. This really is the must have toy for bath time-be sure to registrar to win your very own set using the rafflecopter form below!

Haircuts for Kids!

The moment most parents dread and look forward to all at the same time...the first haircut. My biggest fear as my daughter approached her third birthday with no haircut was that her hair was getting so long and uneven at the end it looked awful. I always thought she would get her hair cut sooner but had no idea where to go...I mean there was no way that she was going to sit in a chair at a salon and stay still so her hair would be straight. Then I found out there is a special salon just for kids-Snip Its. The second we walked in I knew that this would be the perfect place for little miss and she was overly excited to get in the "scissor chair". Here is what snip its looks like:

They have these cute little characters on the wall (scissors, comb, and brush) and have their own video. When we went back to get my daughters hair cut the girl was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. They had suckers, crackers, and toys to keep the kids entertained and looking in the right direction. My salon even used the knot genie brush wish you all know I love! Now the best part-Snip Its has a first hair cut package! You get a photo, lock of hair, and certificate to savor every second of the big milestone. If you asked my daughter her favorite part was the "credit card prize machine". They give the kids a key card when they arrive to put into the machine at the end for a special prize. My daughter had an amazing experience and is not all afraid to return..in fact she wants to get her hair cut every time we go near the shopping plaza now! Snip Its also offers great hair care products including an amazing shampoo that my makes my daughters hair feel so soft and frizz free and spray to make her hair so manageable. Overall I would give our Snip Its an A+ and am even considering hosting my daughters next birthday at the salon! There was a party room set up and I got a peek while we waited...how amazing would it be to take her friends to a "spa day" for nails and hairstyles?

Sponsor Highlight-Voda Swim

Voda Swim will be sponsoring our summer giveaway and I am beyond amazed at this swim suite! I personally have a hard time finding a suit that fits my upper half without making me feel self conscious or that gives me the cleavage effect without feeling like I will fall out any second. Voda Swim has amazing push up tankini that makes me feel like I did before I had kids. Here is an example of what the amazing suit can do:

I am highly impressed with the quality and style selection and am very eager to take the swimsuit on vacation this summer. I also love the wide choice of bottoms available and the sizing chart. I am a 36C and fit into an XL comfortably both top and bottom. They have a great sizing guide and it is very true to size. Be sure to visit the summer hop to win your very own Voda Swim of your own!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Tired of your kids tripping on the playground?

This summer was going to be full of bumps and bruises because my daughter had to have the glitter, light up shoes with laces....how I loathe lace up shoes-I mean shouldn't every kid wear Velcro for the sanity of their moms! Then I discovered I did not have to stain a knee or throw out my back constantly bending over to tie shoes...someone discovered the secret Snap N Step Shoe Lace Locks! This amazing Eco friendly invention keeps laces tied which means fewer falls and skinned knees.

I cannot tell you what this adorable little solution has done for my life...we leave home with tied shoes and come home with tied shoes! Now my daughter can wear her big girl laces without worrying about them coming untied and having to run over to mom to fix the problem. I also can see how theses great little shoe lace locks can be perfect for sports...imagine your child running down the soccer field or basketball court and their shoes actually stay tied! Enter using the rafflecopter form below to win your set of Snap N Step Shoe Lace Locks-your choice!
